![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() SEE SPOT RUN - KICKS OFF THEIR CANADIAN TOUR IN CLARENVILLE With the amount of success that this band has had in the last year with hits like Weightless, Lucy, Au Natural both in English and French it's hard to imagine how or why they would start off their tour in Clarenville. Thank God they did! On September 13, 2001 See Spot Run put off one of the most amazing rock shows that the town has seen in years! When Chris Brodbeck, Randy Bowen, Reggie Bennett, and Bruce McQueen took the stage at the Playhouse Lounge the energy level went through the roof. Rocking their way through 90 minutes of great tunes the fans were on the edge (and out of) their seats the whole time. After the set the band came out for a meet and great with the people that showed up. The traditional "Screeching in" for one of the band members took place since it was his first time in Newfoundland. The fans defiantly received their money's worth. If not for the great show alone, for the chance to hang out with some very cool musicians. I wish them good luck with the rest of their tour and we hope to see you back here in the future! Here are some fact about See Spot Run and the Success that they had Source: See Spot Run website When SEE SPOT RUN released it's debut CD "TEN STORIES HIGH" in July 1997, it started something like a runaway train. Three charted singles and videos were generated from "TEN STORIES HIGH", including "Lucy" #48, "Love Me To Death" #75, and "Au Natural" #42. SEE SPOT RUN toured the country tirelessly, actually crossing Canada three times. The tour was not without it's dramatic moments. In Newfoundland where SEE SPOT RUN have performed many times, the band was involved in a serious late night collision with a moose. We van and the moose did not survive. Luckily, the band did. Countless television, radio and print interviews were done. The band was featured in episodes of two television programs, Popular Mechanics for Kids (which aired in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico) and the Incredible Story Studios, a nationally broadcast teen television program produced by the Regina based studio of the same name. SEE SPOT RUN's song "Lucy" (from TEN STORIES HIGH) was included on the Canada Games Compilation CD and was played during national broadcasts of the games. The Canada Games took place in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland in February 1999. SEE SPOT RUN was first formed in Montreal by Randy Bowen and Chris Brodbeck, Bruce McQueen, originally from Winnipeg, and Reggie Bennett from Pasadena, Newfoundland round out the sound. -- Lestat |
