Ok, first of all I would really like to know what's going on. This to me seems to be how it all started. Sometime last year I'm unsure of the time but a handful of people in a Walkertown, Ontario got sick and I think a few died as well from a water supply which was infected with e-coli.

Now in the year 2001 here in Newfoundland we have witnessed numerous towns and even cities have boil water orders placed. These towns to name a few are Mount Pearl, East end of St. John's, and Corner Brook those being the largest. All together there are 240 towns and communities with boil water orders in effect. Newfoundland has nearly half of those orders issued in Canada alone. Not bad considering that Newfoundland is supposed to have such an endless supply of water. Danny Williams the leader of the Conservative party stated that the Liberals are withholding a survey done five years ago on our water supply. But for some strange reason they are keeping it a secret. So what's going on? I personally think that if there is something wrong in whatever community the people have a right to know. And if there is something in those reports saying what is wrong with the water we should know, we have a right to know. It's even written into the law under the information act. Now Roger Grimes the present Premier is stating that the report is not important that it was written to get an idea of the state of Newfoundland's water supply. Well if 240 communities have boil water orders issued I think it's time the public had a look at that report. Instead of keeping it under lock and key. What are they hiding?

The water we drink all over Newfoundland is the same water that Newfoundlander's have been drinking since there were Newfoundlander's it comes from the same source it always did. There was never any problem before; there never were any known complaints of people steadily getting sick. But now all of a sudden we have 240 communities with similar problems. And I ask you what has changed? Has the instruments improved so that they can pick up germs they weren't able to detect before? Or do people have a weaker immune system then they had in the past. What's going on? What are the politicians trying to prove? Or maybe it's all a farce for some hidden political agenda.

240 communities, that's a lot, and it seems like every time I turn on the news there is another town, community, and city being issued that order. It's strange, to say the least. I would like to know what's in that report, and what is in our water?
