JOGGING WITH PAIN

Most people for all intents and purposes do want and try to stay fit. No matter if it is everyday at the gym or just eating right. But what happens when this becomes compulsive? May there be such a thing as being too in shape?

Jogging - is it good or can be disastrous? Lots of people jog to stay in shape and I guess it is a good cardiovascular activity. Chances are everyone knows someone who wakes up every morning and before work goes out for a run... rain or shine. Personally I'd rather get up and relax with a cup of coffee and actually let myself wake up, but that’s just me. Running was something that was thought to be good for cardiovascular workout. It may be just me, but I disagree.

When you run you are continually putting stress on your lower joints especially your ankles. Older people who have jogged for a long time now find their joints to ache more than normal. This can lead to weak joints causing a lot of pain in many cases. Besides that there are hundreds of people who have very easily twisted their ankles and knees causing not only extreme pain, but also months and sometimes years of inactivity and this is very bad and difficult to take for the person who enjoys staying active young or old.

So, my advice if you enjoy getting out for a run or a walk or anything cardiovascular buy a bike and try riding instead of running. I believe it will give you just as good a workout and there is less chance of joint injury unless of course you fall off.
