It's Saturday night, everybody in town are getting ready to go to the local club. They all dress up in their best clothes whatever their attire and off they go to have another night of partying and fun. Not that there is anything wrong with this of course. It's just that I am also a club goer and no matter if I'm one of the people doing the partying and going nuts or if I'm in a more of a mellow mood I can still just sit back and watch and be entertained.

Every single person that goes to a club goes for a different reason. And if you watch carefully you can read them like an open book. You can tell why they go, why they spend their money every single weekend on the same shit that means nothing.

I see a lot of older men and women going to clubs by themselves. Some of them I know others I don't. But what I do know is they all hold the same sad face. They watch how the times have changed since they were a youth. Perhaps That's their goal just to bring back some of the feelings that they had when they were younger. And there are always the loners that are there because they have just separated from their spouse. They go because may be there lonely and just looking for some human touch as opposed to the licks from the family dog. Either way I think it's sad to watch them as they wander about aimlessly looking for some young girl or guy that's half their age to dance with them to make them feel young again.

Then there are the true people who go for strictly a good time. They always go with a group of friends and party. They are the power drinkers. They see clubbing as an escape and something of a spiritual experience and they never go home until after last call.

And we can't forget the players the boys who go for the look and chance to bring home a new score for their board. These guys are so easy to spot, they will always prey on some girl who just happens to be sitting alone for a couple of minutes. They have a style and charisma that allows them to get away with being assholes.

Last but not least there's Paul. You know Paul! He always arrives by himself, drinks by himself and finally goes home by himself. Paul is a glimpse of a person who is inside of all of us. He is our insecurities and our inhibitions. He is the guy who never had any close friends growing up. Everybody liked him it's just that no one ever knew him. Every club as a Paul no matter if he is male of female. They're there looking on consumed in shyness. Spending their last dollar on something that means nothing. The point is everybody who frequents clubs has their own different reasons for going. Every face that you see at the bar has a story to tell. Sometimes it could be sad other times it could be fun. But every time if you look hard enough you will always see a glimmer of yourself no matter if you like it or not.
