It's safe to say that the majority of people reading this article has access to the Internet and knows a little bit about what it is. After all this is an online publication. So why do I say that technology is the death of humanity? First of all it is an overstatement. I'm not saying that in 20 years the human race will be wiped out by robot, my point is more concentrated on the fact that human interaction and communication is suffering as much as it's gaining.

Where once we relied purely on oral communication now we can talk to a person for months and never know what they look like, their gender, their voice, basically anything oral and visual. Some people just sit in their room for days talking to hundreds of people over the internet only getting up to eat or use the bathroom. As a result the basic communication skills of society are gradually decaying.

I'm not telling you to throw out all your communication devices or you will turn into a vegetable. Society as a whole needs to come together and help promote good old fashion talking! Meeting new people in public and talking for hours just like they do on the Internet. Using chat programs is great but all you are doing is hiding your self-image and your fear of rejection. In the real world people deal with those issues. Its time for everyone to do the same.

You may think nobody will talk to you because you are fat or ugly or you have three eyes and four arms or whatever. The truth is once you overcome this fear you will no longer depend on the Internet for talking. You can come out of your shell, the shell that everyone in society is falling into.
