When I turned 19 I was going to school in St. John's. So my friends thought it would be a great idea to go downtown to George Street. But considering my Birthday was on a Tuesday that year there wasn't that much on the go. And instead of accepting this we all decided to go to a strip bar. Well, needless to say that it was early that morning before we left.

We all had a fairly good time that night, watching all those gorgeous girls dance with not a stitch of clothes on. What hot-blooded male wouldn't like it? Right? Well I did anyway. But later during the night I noticed that every now and again one of the dancers would take one of the guys in the back room. Now what does this mean to you? I know what immediately popped into my mind. Dismissing the possibility, soon after. I returned to my drinks and partying with my friends.

Last year I was In Alberta, and sometimes after work we went to a strip bar called "The Zoo". There was one girl I noticed, she just didn't look well or all right. Of course I had no idea what her name was or really anything about her for that matter. And possibly not really caring a whole lot I just put it out of my mind. But every now and then I think about her and what her life is like. I've seen and heard many times that girls who do strip make a lot of money. And god knows that about 99.9% of my half of the species really does enjoy these types of shows. But still, what kind of life is that? I don't think it is a very respecting one. Imagine how low their self-respect actually is… I also think about how many offers they get to do more than just strip for a price of course. And just how many of those girls actually take men up on these offers.

So my conclusion is that I am quite aware of how lucrative this business is. And I am also willing to except that many of the women don't mind the work possibly even enjoy it. But this girl that I spoke of, I would state my life on the fact that her life is taste of misery. I guess the bottom line is Money could never be everything, and surely not worth what those women do every night.
